So, I think for people who have only been married for 4 years we act like we've been married for 50... or maybe we're just boring. We actually celebrated on Wednesday because there was a chance that Chance would end up having to work on Saturday night. Not that we would have been able to do anything anyway. So, on Wednesday we followed our tradition of going to the build a bear workshop to let Carlie pick out her present. It was so fun this time because Carlie got really into it. She picked a really soft pink bear and found a wedding dress with a veil and a bouquet for the outfit. The outfit came with a dress, slippers, and everything thing else a bride has. The cutest thing about it is the name that Carlie picked. Chance and I suggested Isabelle but Carlie decided on Elizabelle. It's actually pretty cute. She made it up all by herself. She absolutely loves it. She's been sleeping with it at night. Landon also got a bear and he really likes it too. He was laughing at it all morning. His is a Utah Jazz bear named Stockton. It even came with a little basketball. Our tradition for Landon will not be getting a stuffed animal every year like Carlie. We figure that's a little too girlie but this year it fit well with what his tradition will be...getting something sporty. Maybe next year he'll get a ball or something. Anyway, after we got their presents we went to get some dinner. On Saturday, when Chance got finished working, he went to walmart and brought home some treats. We ended up watching Sweet Home Alabama on tv. It was an ok night, not much different from most nights. Oh Chance did surprise me with a card and some coasters that you can put pictures in. He found them at Walgreens for 5 bucks. They are actually pretty cute and considering we decided not to get each other anything it was a really nice gesture. I know that if he could he would have done something special but it's just not possible right now.
Even though it wasn't the ideal it was a really good day. We hardly ever get to take our kids out and let them pick out presents and we never go out to eat so even something small is really fun. If anything it was just nice to forget about all of our problems and stress for a few hours and just enjoy being together as a family.
